Koma Coffee is Hiring a Bartender Near Takoma Park, MD
Koma is a new all-day concept opening in Takoma Park, Maryland this spring season! We’re a specialty coffee shop with an Italian influence that serves coffee, pastries, and breakfast by day and lunch, dinner, wine, beer, and cocktails by afternoon and night. We’re looking for bartenders with prior experience who have a great attitude and take responsibility for creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all patrons.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet guests as they enter and thank guests as they leave.
- Maintains a great attitude throughout shift.
- Provide drink menus and answer questions regarding ingredients.
- Recommend drinks and food based on guest preferences.
- Entertains guests and create a memorable experience that keeps guests coming back.
- Take orders while paying attention to details.
- Provide quality food and beverages to guests by adhering to all recipes and standards.
- Properly check ID’s and serve alcoholic beverages responsibility.
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit).
- Maintain a clean workspace and clean restaurant.
- Cleans, stocks inventory, and takes pride in store appearance.
- Prepares items for the bar as needed.
- Properly labels, dates, covers, and refrigerates prepared items.
- Performs opening, closing, and side work duties – setting up/breaking down the bar, cleaning glass/countertops, sweeping the floor, etc.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate guest feedback to managers.
- Good personal hygiene.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance to schedule.
- Takes responsibility for all bartender job functions.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Prior experience mixing and serving drinks.
- Knowledge of wine preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience and composure when interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50lb
- High level of stamina to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- A great attitude and desire to learn and excel at your job (training provided)
- Team-oriented
- Be on time and dependable
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
